Holidays

Well, this has been one of the best holiday seasons I've had in a while. First the guys camping trip (a lot of fun), then home for a week. Then up to camp for a week (still work, but with the family all day, and a very different, relaxing atmosphere), then home. Scott and Andrea and the boys show up, so lots of fun with that, my birthday (today), a few more days work, and then off for a couple of weeks vacation. No complaints from me!

Oh, yeah. I was supposed to keep you posted. We caught him (like the next day). Then we cleaned everything. Now our kitchen is clean. Or it was for about 30 seconds. Then our boys entered it.

I think I need to go camping.

A-mousing we will go...

Last night, I heard one of the coolest noises my wife has ever made. I don't know how to describe it, and I certainly couldn't copy it, but it was neat.

Unfortunately, it was uttered because she had just seen a mouse scurrying across our kitchen floor. So we dug pots and pans out of the cupboard it had invaded, chased it around until it escaped downstairs (boy, can those things move), and then set some traps. This morning it had licked the peanut butter off the traps, but managed to avoid setting them off. It had also chewed extensively on the old towel that Terra had stuck under the door at the top of the stairs. It appears the best food is in the kitchen (go figure).

So this morning, we reset the traps and cleaned out the cupboards, throwing out a lot of things that it had infiltrated. We got the seven mice who were in our van, so I'm pretty confident that we'll get this guy!

So Proud

Just talked to my wife. She went out of the house to call the boys in for lunch and found them by my vehicle. They had the jack stands out. One was by the back tire, and the other was underneath the vehicle. They also had the hydraulic jack out and pumped up, but not under the vehicle.

Terra laughed and told them that they had to help daddy with his car when he was home. Guess they've seen me work on the car once or twice...

Update

Just a quick post (because I really need to do some work).

Looks like Avery is doing fine, and everything is back to normal, as near as we can tell. We will likely have a follow-up appointment later this week just to confirm.

Now we just have Cayden sick with a cold. Seems like we haven't all been properly healthy in ages, but we're getting there!
